Clinton Njie is now fulltime on pay roll of Olympique de Marseille. In a release, Tottenham Hotspurs announced on Sunday July 16th that Clinton Njie was permanently transferred to Olympique de Marsaille. Tottenham tweeted: ‘We have reached agreement with @OM-Officiel for the permanent transfer of Clinton Njie. We wish Clinton all the best for the future.’
Njie, 23, joined Tottenham in August, 2015, from Olympique Lyonnais for a fee of up to 10 million pounds according to British media reports and made 14 appearances for the club. The dazzling and flig-footed winger who has scored six goals in 15 appearances for his country, failed to start a single Premier League game for Spurs although he did make eight substitute appearances. He spent the whole of last season at the Ligue 1 side, a year after signing from the Olympique Lyonnais which also had an eye on him this summer. Njie made 23 appearances and scored four goals for the Marsaille last season, having struggled to establish himself at Spurs especially after a serious knee injury in December 2015.The recently crowned African Champion’s departure makes him the third player to leave Spurs in as many days after following both Kyle Walker and Federico Fazio out of the White Hart Lane exit door.
